School Librarian Mr. Taeschner is celebrating School Library Month at MCMS by highlighting Black-Eyed Susan award books. The Black-Eyed Susan Book Award is a student-choice award for the state of Maryland, given annually since 1992. The award aims to promote literacy and lifelong reading habits by encouraging students to read quality, contemporary literature. Reading committees of school and public librarians, along with other members of the Maryland Association of School Librarians (MASL), meet each year to nominate books for the student reading lists. Stop by the Mill Creek Middle School Library and check out a Black-Eyed Susan book!
